Founded in 1996 by Dr. Ron Zokol, the Pacific Implant Institute has trained hundreds of dentists in the art and science of Implant Dentistry. The Institute is based in Vancouver, Canada provides lectures and training internationally.

The focus of training in the field of implant dentistry, with the rare exception, has been predominantly on the east coast of North America. The Pacific Implant Institute was established to provide comprehensive training in implant surgery, implant prosthodontics, and implant practice management to the doctors of the Pacific Rim. More recently, demand for the Pacific Implant Institute courses has generated instructional programs across Canada and into Bermuda.

Advanced Implant Prosthodontic Courses

Six-Day, 2 Session Program:

  • Held on Fri, Sat, Sun on two weekends, usually separated by one month.

Five-Day program:

  • Held Mon-Fri at a single session.

The Implant Prosthodontic Courses provides the dentist with the fundamental principles of implant prosthodontics. The full course is separated into two phases. The first 3-day program will focus on cemented implant prosthodontics and the second on screw-retained implant prosthodontics and advanced prosthetic cases.

It will also give the more experienced clinician in implant dentistry a more scientific understanding of the principles that govern the success and failure of restored implants. Participants are encouraged to bring their own cases for review and discussion. College continuing education credits are available.

Advanced Implant Surgery Courses

Fifteen-Day, 5 Session Program:

The surgical training program included the opportunity for the doctors to participate on a one-to-one basis with a highly experienced clinical instructor directly on patients. Those doctors choosing not have the clinical training may observe a number of different clinical procedures during that time by auditing the course.

As the prosthetics program includes a significant amount of surgical background for the treatment planning aspect of the course, so does this program include the prosthodontic information, which forms the basis for the implant surgical procedures.

Emphasis is given to bone grafting and root form implant surgical procedures, but multiple types of implants are given significant attention. Course content Includes:
